Illuxcon Return

Hey, something to share. About 48 hours ago I pulled into the driveway, after the 6 plus hour drive from Altoona, PA. Altoona is the home of Illuxcon, a convention/conference dedicated to the highest level of fantasy illustration, which has become something of an all-star game and a family reunion of artists. It's a crazy good time, and I return home all jazzed to get back into my latest pieces.

This year I presented a lecture on The Influence of Golden-Age Illustration on Fantasy Art Today. I had input from a number of illustrators at the top of the field, mixed it with some serious illustration history, and managed to speak to a packed room (standing in the back, sitting in the aisles) for a bit over an hour.

While it was a daunting task to prep this for an audience who might have known just as much about this as myself— the comments and feedback were great, and I've been asked to consider giving the same presentation at other conventions. I don't think I could have gathered this together before my experience in the FIT MA program—and it felt great to be a contributor this year, instead of just an attendee. Jeff

That's wonderful, Jeff! I'm sure you gave a fantastic lecture -- wish I could have seen you in action!
